The City of Iloilo dubbed as ‘city of love”, is a highly urbanized city in the Philippines and is the capital city of the province of Iloilo. It is the regional center of the Western Visayas as well as the center of the Iloilo-Guimaras Metropolitan Area.
Iloilo was already a famous an important city during the early years of the Spanish colonization of the country. It was the second most important city to be recognized by the Spanish empire as the major economic center of the Philippines after Manila. Iloilo is one of only two cities to be recognized as a Royal City by virtue of a Spanish decree, Manila being the other one. It was considered as the capital of the south until 1898, with even Cebu under its jurisdiction.
The prominence of Iloilo as an industrial city rose as the sugar and textile industries grew. Iloilo was already an international port for hundreds of years. Iloilo’s importance and influence in the Philippines are as important today as it was in the past, as it continues to reposition itself as a globally competitive city.
Iloilo City is a popular center of tourism in the country where you can find the best world-class restaurants, hotels, shopping districts, museums, and nightlife in the province await. It is famous worldwide for its annual Dinagyang Festival, an abundance of exquisite heritage sites, delicious freshly harvested seafood, and signature Ilonggo dishes. Tourists will find in the province numerous old churches, vintage houses, and old institutional and commercial buildings that date back to the time the province was famously known as the “Queen City of the South.”

Iloilo City ranked third among property hotspots in the country in 2017 because of its fast-rising developments, making it a favorite destination for both investors and tourists.

SM Development Corporation (SMDC) is set to build a residential condominium at a 30,301 sq.m property at Benigno Aquino Avenue, Barangay Buhang Taft North, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The project will rise in five lots, which are owned by SMPHI. SM Development Corporation (SMDC), a subsidiary of SMPHI, will build the project. It will be named the “Style Residences”.

Compared to Cebu or the NCR there is not a wide range of developer choices in this area. SMDC will partially satisfy the strong demand for condominium projects in Iloilo and surrounding provinces

The development will feature urban living experience through the vertical villages that are either close to or integrated with a commercial retail environment to give residents an access to a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
